 **Proposal for paint Rejuvenation of the brick section PCHub: 

Wood Painting and Refurbishment Project**



As a community-driven charity, we are excited to embark on lots of projects to renovate -rejuvenate refurbish upcycle/grade! -repurpose and modernise Polmont community hub. Our goal is to enhance the appearance performance and functionality, we have began this and something new happens nearly every day, an easy start to proper repairs that would enhance the aesthetics quickly and easily would be - repainting the woodwork fascia and refurbishing the doors and windows. We shalll also address the necessary sealant repairs. To effectively estimate the costs and coordinate this effort, we have outlined several key factors:


1. **Materials:**

   - **Wood Replacement:** We have identified that some fascia and south-facing windows and doors are slightly warped and damaged and may need replacement. We will calculate the amount of wood required based on linear feet.

   - **Sealant:** We will determine how much sealant is needed for the doors, windows, and other areas needing attention.

   - **Paint and Primer:** We will estimate the quantity of paint and primer based on the surface area that requires treatment.




2. **Labour Costs:**

   - We will research local rates for painters and door/window fitters to understand the potential costs, whether charged hourly or as a flat rate for the project.

   - We will consider additional labour for prep work, such as sanding and removing old paint.

   - To foster community involvement, we are organizing a volunteer workday, engaging local residents, including (potentially) Cala Homes and hopefully - the council’s community services department.

- We also have some of our own volunteers 







3. **Additional Supplies:**

   - Our budget will include essential supplies such as brushes, rollers, drop cloths, sandpaper, and cleaning materials. As a registered charity, we have established a partnership with a building supplier, allowing us to add necessary tools to our growing tool library.


4. **Quotes:**

   - We adhere to a robust purchasing policy that requires obtaining at least three quotes, with a preference for local and ethical contractors. It is essential to source materials that are sustainably sourced and suitable for our purpose. We will clearly specify the work needed to ensure accurate estimates. And prioritise environmentally friendly products





5. **Contingency:**

   - To prepare for unexpected expenses, we plan to include a contingency of 10-15% in our budget. This might cover additional costs such as providing refreshments for our hardworking volunteers.


By gathering all this information, we aim to create a comprehensive picture of the total cost for this first of many renovation projects at the hub. We will then seek grant funding and possibly organize fundraising events to support this initiative. We believe that with the help of grants and community volunteers, we can revitalize our community hub, making it an even more welcoming space for everyone.

Internet Helping with Tree Planting At Polmont Community Hub,       we are passionate about trees. We consider their importance in all our activities, from reducing paper usage to supporting initiatives that help plant trees. Our preferred search engine is Ecosia, which proudly displays on their homepage that they have planted over 235,907,879 trees. While we haven't implemented our newsletter mailing plans yet, we intend to install EcoSend on our website as our preferred version of Mailchimp. Our Sustainability Manager is a member of the Green Runners community, where he promotes the "tees not trees" initiative, encouraging participants at running events to plant a tree instead of receiving a t-shirt. Very soon, we will be in a position to start planting numerous trees around the Hub, and we aim to expand this effort to our communities in Upper and Lower Braes.
