Corridor Rejuvination

**Community Hub Corridor Rejuvenation Project Proposal**

**Project Overview:**

The corridor connecting the brick-end main hall area to the wooded, felt-roofed rooms and office spaces is crucial for safety, serving as a fire escape for both ends of our community hub. Unfortunately, the corridor has fallen into severe disrepair since its construction in 1996. This project aims to revitalize the space, ensuring it meets safety standards and enhances the comfort of all users.

**Project Goals:**

1. **Safety Renovation:** Improve the structural integrity and safety features of the corridor. Double-glaze the large glass panels or install shutters

2. **Energy Efficiency:** Enhance insulation and draught-proofing to reduce heating costs and improve comfort during winter months.

3. **Aesthetic Improvement:** Refresh the corridor's appearance to create a welcoming environment.

**Scope of Work:**

1. **Structural Repairs:**

   - Inspect and repair the rotted timber and replace damaged glass panes.

   - Ensure the corridor meets current safety standards.

2. **Draught Exclusion:**

   - Upgrade door seals to eliminate draughts and install weather stripping to improve energy efficiency.

3. **Painting and Finishing:**

   - Undertake a full repaint of the corridor, focusing on the north-facing side, which shows significant wear. Use durable, weather-resistant paint to ensure longevity.

4. **Enhancing Heat Management:**

   - Implement better heat management solutions to regulate temperatures within the corridor and reduce the use of heating throughout the building. This will include installing energy-efficient heating solutions.

5. **Ongoing Maintenance Plan:**

   - Establish a plan for regular maintenance checks on the corridor to prevent future deterioration.

6**Community Impact:**

Revitalizing this corridor will not only enhance safety but also improve the overall experience for visitors and community members. This project reflects our commitment to maintaining a functional and welcoming environment for all users of the community hub.

7**Next Steps:**

- Prepare rejuvenation proposals -most suitable to purpose to the management team for approval.

- Begin gathering funds through local fundraising initiatives, grants, or community donations.

- Schedule a community meeting to gather input and support for this and our other projects.
